Nokia Software Recovery Tool gets public release

Nokia has released its Software Recovery Tool to the general public to bring dead Lumias back to life.

Well...some of them, anyway.

If your phone has frozen/crashed/died and you can't switch it on...download the app onto your PC, plug your phone in and with any luck you'll be able to revive it and even reinstall the operating system.

In the past, Nokia advised customers to return their devices to a care centre.
