Windows Phone 8.1 gives you the option of saving precious storage space on your phone and installing apps onto your microSD card.
You can control this by heading to Settings > Storage Sense. There are options to change where you store apps, photos, music, videos, podcasts and other data like maps.
But what about apps that are already on your phone's internal storage? Well, on the Storage Sense main screen, tap "Phone" above the storage space used bar.
You'll now get a detailed list of what's stored on your device. It may take a minute or two to populate. When it's finished, tap "Apps + Games" and you have a list of all apps and games stored on your phone. Tap the select button at the bottom and you'll then be able to tick-select individual apps.
Tap boxes will appear at the bottom of the screen giving you the option to uninstall multiple apps at once....or to move selected apps to the microSD card.
We've had some issues with apps installed on the memory card. Sometimes the phone has failed to recognise them. A reboot has solved the problem, which may be caused by the microSD card itself and have nothing to do with WP8.1.
It's also worth noting that the main Storage Sense screen gives you other options as well. Scroll down and tap "temporary files" and you have the option of deleting these to free up some space.
