Microsoft has been appointed official Technology Partner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
It means Microsoft will hand over a lot of dosh to the organisers and have its name plastered over the event. It will also provide technology backup for the contest.
"We welcome Microsoft on board the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest as the Technology Partner," says Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor of the contest on behalf of the EBU. "With their help we will be able to lift the official mobile app to even greater heights and also for the first time, bring it to Windows Phone."Yup...Microsoft will develop the official apps for the contest including, for the first time, an app for Windows phones.
So there you go...a strange pairing for an event that's already pretty strange. The "Eurovision" contest includes Australia!?!
