UK mobile network EE has just switched on WiFi calling for some phones.
It means users can now make and receive calls and messages when they don't have a mobile signal.
You just connect your phone to a WiFi router or hotspot and don't have to worry about patchy mobile coverage, for example, at home or at work....or even in a cafe.
The minutes/texts used will still come out of your allowance although there's no fee for the WiFi calling service.
At launch, it's only for the iPhone 5s, 5c, 6 and 6 Plus. But EE says Samsung Galaxy support will be coming soon and more phones will follow.
You need a setting in your phone to turn on WiFi Calling.
