Occasionally, I like to take a break from Windows phones and have a look at the growing market in China phones - devices usually from little-known brands that claim to give good value for money and top specs.
A few weeks ago, I raved about the ZTE Blade S6 which could be bought for about £180 on eBay and Amazon in the UK.
Well, the Chinese manufacturer has now released its bigger brother, the ZTE Blade S6 Plus.
Both devices took remarkably like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and the specs of both are good, giving smooth and fast operating.
Like the S6, the S6 Plus runs on the latest Android Lollipop operating system, has an octacore processor, 2GB of RAM, has LTE 4G, dual-SIM, 16GB internal storage and a slot for a microSD card.
The Plus - not surprisingly - is bigger. It has a 5.5" screen compared with 5" and a bigger battery.
But it's the price of these devices that makes them noteworthy.
The S6 Plus is now on sale on eBay UK - and worldwide by the looks of it - for £182.99 with dispatch from the UK so no long waits for a parcel from China. The company says its a special introductory price.
Don't expect them to completely copy the iPhone....the ZTE devices aren't metal-clad, but they are decent quality plastic with a build that belies the price.
