Apple Says iPhone 4 Sales Top 1.7 Million

The iPhone 4 is officially Apple's best-selling product ever.

The company says it sold more than 1.7 million in the three days after launch.

This is despite ordering-system crashes, yellow spots on screens, low stocks and the now infamous vanishing signal fault.

"This is the most successful product launch in Apple's history," says CEO Steve (don't-hold-your-phone-like-that) Jobs. "Even so, we apologise to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."

All well and good, but many of those 1.7 million customers are still waiting to see what Apple plans to do about the disappearing-signal issue.
