Apple Sell 600,000 iPhone 4s on First Day

Apple have released their sales figures for the first day of orders for the iPhone 4.

Ready?

Six hundred thousand.

That's 600,000.

In one day.

That's 24-hours.

Just to get the scale of it.  It's six-times the first-day sale of the iPhone 3GS.

Apple for world domination, I suppose.

Update: Apple have now issued a statement...and they (sort of) apologise!  Apologise for raking in loadsamoney?!

"Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple’s new iPhone 4.
"It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions.
"Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration."
