Apple have now released the iBooks app for the iPhone. It was already available for the iPad but has now been ported to its smaller sibling with the simultanious release of the new iOS4 operating system for the iPhone.
With iBooks you and buy and read books in the iTunes bookstore. But you have got to update to iOS4 first.
