iPhone 4 Launch Balls-Up

Well, not the smoothest of launches for the iPhone 4, even though it appears most outlets have now sold their first batch.

Around the world, Apple servers creaked and crashed under the strain of orders. Delivery dates are now showing as July 2, so presumably the launch stockpiles of the phone have already gone - mainly due to the persistence of customers some of whom spent hours fighting on-line error messages to eventually click that "order" button.

In the States, exclusive carrier AT&T also crashed, but not before revealing strangers' personal details to people ordering.

In the UK, the networks have been dillying and dallying over when to reveal their prices.  It was meant to be yesterday, but all have now been put back.

And if you managed to order an unlocked iPhone 4 from Apple, just try to get your account transferred onto a micro-SIM so you can actually use the phone when it arrives. Networks' Customer Services in the UK seem to know nothing and are certainly not promising anything.

Looks like a pair of scissors and some careful SIM trimming will be in order.

The only certain thing at the moment is the iPhone will sell like hotcakes - mainly due to customers' persistence!
