The Long iPhone 3GS Unlock Wait Is Over

You can now unlock your iPhone 3GS to use on any mobile network no matter what baseband you're on.

BUT don't upgrade to iOS4 yet.  Here's why....

Many people who've bought a fairly new iPhone 3GS found they could jailbreak it but not unlock it because previous unlocks were closed by the new baseband.

Well, the iPhone Dev-Team has now released an update to their Ultrasn0w unlock which will work with the new baseband. You'll find it in Cydia.

As yet, there's no jailbreak for the new iOS4 software update, and therefore you can't install Cydia and the unlock. But a jailbreak is promised very soon. 

When this is out, the Ultrasn0w unlock should work with iOS4
