iPhone 3G Running Slow on iOS4? Turn Off Spotlight

If you've got an iPhone 3G and you've upgraded to iOS4 you've probably found your phone is running painfully slowly.

A poster - stooovie - over at modmyi forums has come up with what appears could be a fairly universal solution.

Switch off Spotlight in settings.  Apparently, the automatic indexing used by Spotlight could be the culprit. Go: Settings > General > Spotlight Search and deselect all you can.

Many posters are saying it's improved speed for them.

Great solution... I just tried it and it works. My iphone 3G has improved its performance.

And don't forget the new iPhone software update iOS4.1, due out fairly soon, is reported to improve 3G performance even more.
