Apple Manager Arrested In $1M Bribes Investigation

An Apple manager has been arrested and charged with taking more than $1-million in bribes and kickbacks.

It's alleged Paul Devine got the money from Apple suppliers in exchange for secret product information.

The supply companies haven't been named, but they are described as "suppliers of materials designed for Apple's iPhone and iPod products". They're said to be located in "various countries in Asia", including China, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

Devine, from Sunnyvale in California, is an Apple global supply manager.

In a seperate civil action, Apple is suing Devine, claiming he received more than $1-million in "payments, kickbacks and bribes" over several years.

In a statement Apple says: "Apple is committed to the highest ethical standards in the way we do business. We have zero tolerance for dishonest behaviour inside or outside the company".
