Apple Shuns First Enviro-Friendly Mobile Phone Scheme in UK

Apple has refused to allow iPhones to be included in the first national UK scheme to rank mobile phones' environmental friendliness.

It gives rating of zero to five based on a phone's green footprint and is being supported by O2 UK.

Most major manufacturers have signed up, including Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

But not Apple.

It's not saying why, but points to its own environmental footprint policies.
