The concept of Auto3G is simple and very effective.It's a new app in the Cydia App Store on jailbroken iPhones.
Install it and it will automatically turn off your 3G service when your phone is locked...and turn it on again when it's unlocked.
The result is your phone uses less power when it's locked searching and keeping a 3G signal while maintaining a 2G signal for calls and texts to be received.
It comes with an icon so you can turn it on or off.
The app is live now in Cydia and costs $5.99 (£3.78).
