iPhone Dev Team Confirms No New Jailbreak Until iOS4.1

The iPhone Dev Team has confirmed there won't be a jailbreak released for the current latest operating software for the iPhone and the iPad.

The latest iOS versions are iOS4.0.2 for iPhone and 3.2.2 for iPad.

In a blog post, the team says it would be counter-productive to keep bringing out a new jailbreak with every Apple iOS update.

The latest jailbreak, JailbreakMe, still works with previous versions of the iPhone and iPad iOS. The only reason Apple updated recently was to patch the hole that let JailbreakMe in to perform its wonders.

Apple has said new iPhone software, iOS4.1, should be released soon, with new iPad software coming in the autumn.

The Dev Team makes no promises, but says that could be the time a jailbreak will be updated....and so the cat-and-mouse game will continue.
