Multi-Tasking Lets Us Cram In More Hi Tec

A survey people in Britain are managing to force more electronic communication and media into their lives...by multi-tasking.

The annual Communications Market Report says the average Briton spends seven hours a day watching TV, surfing the net or communicating on their mobile phone.

But because we multi-task more (who doesn 't watch TV and surf at the same time?) we squeeze in nearly nine hours of media and communication.

Why?  Well, surprise surprise, because of the growth of the smartphone, which allows us to communicate more easily while doing other things.

The survey is produced by the UK industry regulator OFCOM.
