Murdoch Tells Apple He Loves Them Very Very Much

News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch is continuing his love-in with the Apple iPad.

I bet he doesn't use one, but he sure sees it as a good future earner for his worldwide media empire.

The Guardian reports that, in a speech in Sydney, Australia, he told the audience that tablet devices are the way forward to distribute his News Corp wares.

He predicted Apple will sell 15-million iPads this year and more than 40-million by the end of next year.

Roop believes that the iPad - and other similar devices - is the perfect platform for his "quality" newspaper titles.
Its users will be predominantly fairly wealthy with enough cash to spare for subscriptions. News Corp already has The Wall Street Journal, The Times and The Australian as iPad subscription apps. And this while the papers' paywall websites don't seem to be doing well.

It's been reported that News Corp will made a decision soon on launching a news organisation dedicated to pumping out stuff for tablet devices.
