Police in London Charge 12 People After iTunes Fraud Inquiry

Police in London have charged 12 people after a fraud and money-laundering inquiry that spanned both sides of the Atlantic.

The investigation centred on iTunes and Amazon download music services.  It's alleged music tracks were uploaded to both companies from a firm in the US and stolen credit cards were them used to buy and download the tracks.

It's alleged Amazon and Apple paid out nearly £200,000 in false royalties.

The investigation was run by the Met's eCommerce Branch and the FBI.

All those held, who face various charges, are from the UK and will appear in Court in London next month.
