Real Evidence The iPad Is Clobbering Netbooks

DigiTimes in Taiwan is reporting that Asus is cutting its future shipping forcasts for its Eee PC netbooks - because of competition from Apple's iPad.

It follows second-quarter sales figures lower than expected. The company's CEO Jerry Shen says sales fell short of expectations mainly due to competition from the iPad.

He says Asus will continue in the notebook and netbook market, but will also take on apple with a new tablet device.
