Speculation Grows Over New iPhones and iPads

There's always speculation about new iProducts but this particular snippet would seem to hold water.

Boy Genius Reports has had a tip that the current iPhone and iPad operating systems, iOS, have an interesting bit of coding buried way deep down.

The code allows devices to auto-activate, without the need to connect to iTunes. And there are two devices, apparently, that the code is designed to auto-activate - a new iPad and a CDMA iPhone.  CDMA is a mobile system used in the US by the carrier Verizon.

The code means field testers can use prototype new devices before they're released.

It would seem to add weight to the rumours that AT&T in the States is about to lose its monopoly on iPhones and that an iPad2, with front-facing camera for FaceTime video calling, are just around the corner.
