Find Free WiFi Hotspots In The UK With BTfon iPhone App

If you use BT for your home broadband connection in the UK you can have free access to thousands of wifi hotspots worldwide.

The hotspots are called FON and you can get automatic free access to the network.

If you have a BT Broadband contract, you can agree to give up a tiny bit of your home router bandwidth to the Fon service. It means other people can use some of your broadband. In return, you get free use everyone else's Fon broadband.

There's an iPhone/iPod Touch app in the iTunes App Store called BTfon, and it will do everything for you.

You log in with your BT Broadband details and agree to give up some of your bandwidth and, when you're travelling about, the app will tell you if you're in range of a Fon service and connect you automatically.

It will also locate BT Openzone hotspots and log you into those as well.

At the moment, the app only works with iPhones and iPod Touches. there's no support yet for the iPad.

Here's the iTunes link.
