New iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Getting Closer

A new jailbreak for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch could be getting closer.

Last week, Apple updated the devices' software to iOS 4.1, which was mainly a big fix - namely the hugely annoying proximity sensor problem on the iPhone 4.

And, of course, it broke the latest jailbreak method - JailbreakMe - which allows you to load apps not approved by Apple.

It became known very quickly that hackers have discovered an exploit in the new software that would allow a jailbreak.  It has the working name of SHAtter.  And now it seems, they could be preparing the old GreenPois0n jailbreak for all iDevices for a SHAtter revamp.

It's been given a new logo, which indicates a release could be soon.

It thought that this jailbreak could be "for life" - it would take an Apple hardware update to block it, not just a software upgrade.
