Orange and T-Mobile PiggyBack For Better Coverage

UK mobile networks Orange and T-Mobile are poised to piggyback each other - giving customers better coverage.

From next month, users will be able to sign up for the free dual-network roaming. But it's only on 2G, so it will mean better phone-call and texting coverage but not 3G internet.

It follows the merger of the two companies and is the first practical benefit seen by customers from the deal.

Users will have to request the roaming deal and from October 5 their phones will switch between networks to find the best coverage.

There are also plans for Orange, T-Mobile and 3 to share their 3G networks, but that's not until sometime next year.
