Things Are Looking Good For New iOS4.1 Jailbreak

Things are looking good for a jailbreak for Apple's new iOS4.1 software update for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Hacker @pod2g has found a hole in the new software that could allow a jailbreak.

And the news is even better.

The exploit could be used for a more permanent jailbreak. The last one - JailbreakMe - could be blocked by Apple with a software update. This new one could be made so the only way Apple can stop it is with a hardware update.

So, this one could jailbreak your iDevice for ever...at least until you buy an updated new device.

I don't know if it was just coincidence, but the new exploit was tweeted within minutes of iOS4.1 being released by Apple.

Of course, the new jailbreak now has to be worked on and packaged.  There's no timescale at the moment for its release..
