iPhone App Now Lets You Book and Buy UK Train Tickets

thetrainline is one of the most used apps on my iPhone. And now it's added probably the only missing function.

You can now book UK train journies and buy the tickets.

It works just like thetrainline website, so it means you can get bargain rail fares if you book in advance.

The app, which is free in the Apple App Store, lets you plan journies, gives you live into on how services are running, will locate you and tell you your nearest station and has a neat "my next train home" feature.

thetrainline app update is now live at the Apple App Store.

Update: there's one fault with the app...when you input your credit card start date, there's no option to select 2010. You can select years before but not this year. So if your card start date is this year, you can't use it. thetrainline says it knows of the glitch and it will be corrected.

Update 2: True to their word...it's now fixed.

I love thetrainline.com app and it is great to hear a company promising to fix something and actually delivering it. Bring on more apps that simplify my life.

I agree. I use this app a lot. Makes it much more useful to be able to book AND BUY tickets. And you're right Tom, very fast bug fix.
