So AirPrint in the current iOS4.2.1 is not what we expected. We expected to be able to print from our iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch straight onto a printer connected to our home WiFi network.
All Apple has given us is a way of printing to a handful of HP WiFi printers.
I've already posted on how to get proper AirPrint working with your Mac. And now, thanks to Jaxov here's how to get AirPrint working on your Windows PC. I've used it on my Windows 7 machine, and it works great.

Steps to Enable AirPrint on Windows 7/Vista/XP:
- If you have 64-bit Windows OS, go to C:\Program Files (x86) and create a new folder called AirPrint as shown in the screenshot below:
- If you have 32-bit Windows OS, go to C:\Program Files and create a new folder calledAirPrint as shown in the screenshot below:
- Download AirPrint.zip from here and unzip it in the AirPrint folder you created in the above steps.
- Go to run and type "CMD" to open Command Prompt as shown in the screenshot below:
- Now use the following set of commands respective to your OS version:
- sc.exe create AirPrint binPath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\AirPrint\airprint.exe -s" depend= "Bonjour Service" start= auto
- sc.exe start AirPrint
- sc.exe create AirPrint binPath= "C:\Program Files\AirPrint\airprint.exe -s" depend= "Bonjour Service" start= auto
- sc.exe start AirPrint
- As soon as you will start the AirPrint service, Windows Firewall will prompt you allow or deny AirPrint features to be shared over networks. Click on Allow access button.
For 64-bit Windows OS:

Thats it. Now open any document or email on your device with iOS 4.2 installed and click on the Print option to print the document wirelessly over a Wifi connection.
