iPad 2 Update "To Have Five New Features"

A newspaper in China is reporting that a planned new Apple iPad will have five new features, including better display and video-calling.

OK...there are lots of rumours around about iPad2, but this report comes from the Economy Daily News, which has been correct in its Apple product predictions in the past.

It claims it has information from "industry sources" and don't forget China is where most Apple products, including the iPad, are manufactured.

It says there'll be new display technology. This could be the Hi-Def Retina screens now sported by iPhones and iPod Touches.  Video-calling with front and rear cameras is no real surprice as Apple wants its FaceTime feature on all its devices.

The paper also says the new iPad will have USB connection, a three-axis gyroscope and "better mobility".

That last one might be a slimmer device or better battery life...or both.

Most observers expect Apple to launch an updated iPad fairly early next year...possibly March.

I love the cartoon. And he is correct. The ipad could be the saviour of the newspaper industry. And save the trees.
