Steve Jobs "Promises More AirPrint Printers"

When Steve Jobs took to the stage to announce that iOS4.2 (or iOS4.2.1 as it turns out to be) would include AirPrint, we all cheered. Loudly.

He said it would mean we could print from our iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to any printer on a  home wifi sharing network.

Mmmmmm.  When iOS4.2.1 was eventually released, it was with a much watered down version of AirPrint.  In fact, it only supports a handful of HP printers.

Well, Apple customer, Stan, decided to complain to the-Steve-Jobs-email-address-we-all-know. And he got a reply.  Of course, whether it was really from Stevo, or one of his PR minions, we don't know.

Q: You got me all hyped up about AirPrint. Now with iOS 4.2 released, I find out that I can only print on 11 select printers. Seriously?!

A: Lots more coming soon. It's what it takes to make a giant leap to driverless printing, which is huge.

Good to believe it's true, though.
