Apple Sued Over Personal Data Claims

Apple is being sued over claims some iPhone and iPad apps are sending owners' personal data to advertisers.

It follows an investigation by the Wall Street Journal which says some apps collect and pass on information including location, gender, age and political views as well as devices' unique identifier serial numbers.

The lawsuit has been filed in San Jose, California, and names Apple along with the developers of several apps including Pandora, The Weather Channel and Dictionary.com.

The action, brought by Jonathan Lalo claims privacy laws are being broken
