Banned WikiLeaks App Developer Says "There's No Way Back to The App Store"

The developer of the iPhone WikiLeaks app that was pulled from the iTunes App Store says Apple has told him there's no way it will be accepted again.

Igor Barinov told the BBC Apple claims the app broke two of its store guidelines. The first says: "Any app that is defamatory, offensive, mean-spirited, or likely to place the targeted individual or group in harms way will be rejected".

And the second says: "Apps must comply with all legal requirements in any location where they are made available to users".

Mr Barinov says he made the app because he was "interested in information about UFOs" that might be in the WikiLeak documents.

He confirmed that he's donated $1 for each sale of the $1.99 app to the WikiLeaks organisation. It was removed from the App Store three days after being initially approved by Apple.
