Serious Bugs In Latest Beta Jailbreak. Update: Some Fixed But Still Wait.

If you're thinking of trying out the latest untethered jailbreak for iDevices, think again.

A beta version of the Redsn0w jailbreak has been released and it's aimed at people willing to test. It has a lot of serious problems.  These are the known bugs:

- Bluetooth is disabled
- iPod player not working on iPhone 4 and iPad
- Application switcher causing the springboard to crash
- YouTube is not working for many
- Videos in your camera roll may not play at all
- AirPlay not compatible
- Some app store apps are crashing or not working at all

As I said, this is a beta version and will no doubt be improved. But the message at the moment is steer well clear unless you really want to test the jailbreak and feedback your findings to the developers.  It's intended to give an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPad and newer iPod Touch.

If you want to go ahead, details are on the iPhone Dev-Team blog.

Update: The jailbreak has now been updated to beta 3, which does fix some of the bugs, like some app store apps not working, but other bugs remain. The message is the same...unless you r e a l l y want to test, stay away for now.
