Android 3.0 Honeycomb SDK Released for Developers

Tablet manufacturers worldwide are waiting with baited breath for Google to release the update to its Android operating system called Vs 3.0 or Honeycomb.

This is the Android version that's being developed specially for tablets and is being seen by many as the real rival to Apple's iPad.

Well, Google has just released the Honeycomb SDK, Software Developers Kit, so manufacturers and developers can start testing apps on it.
So we now have a little more knowledge of Honeycomb.  It will support high-performance 2D and 3D graphics and there's also support for multi-core processors, which could make it blisteringly fast. The OS will also be able to handle HTTP live streaming.

Developers say it's obvious Honeycomb has been rebuilt from the ground up.

There's no definite release date yet, but this could be the tablet operating system that could really make Apple sit up and take notice.
