There's a new app for jailbroken iPhones in the Cydia App Store called Vibrafications.
It's a tweak that lets you set custom vibrations for different alerts, including individual contacts in mail and SMS, or you can set different vibrations for mail and texts in general.
It also allows custom patterns for push notifications from individual apps.
It costs $3.99 and there's a free version that has set patterns for push notifications and text messages only.
In Particular, it would be a great app for anyone with sight problems using text-to-speech.
