Plan for "Paedophile Spotter" iPhone App

It's reported that a group of researchers is planning to launch an iPhone app that could spot paedophiles trying to groom children.

The app would analyse conversations children are having on their phones on social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter, or by text messages, and would spot "quirks" in language that could identify someone pretending to be younger than they actually are.
The Metro newspaper says the developers believe this would let children do a check on the "real" age of people they're chatting to on their mobile phones.

The group behind the app are based at Lancaster University, UK, and have already produced a similar app for computers. And they say the phone app correctly identified adults posing as children in tests.

Apps for the iPhone, Android and Nokia devices are now "undergoing final testing" and will be free when they're released.
