As the Mobile World Congress grinds to a party-mood conclusion in Barcelona, Apple has walked away with the top award of the show - without even being there.
The iPhone 4 got the "Best Mobile Device" award with the judges saying:
"(It has a) great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smartphones."Not bad when you don't even hand over an attendance fee. Apple, famously, doesn't attend trade shows any more.
