Google Set To Launch Music Store To Rival iTunes

It's been rumoured for some time, but it now looks imminent. Google will be launching an on-line music store to rival Apple's iTunes.

It's thought Google Music will go live with the release of the company's latest Android operating system, Honeycomb, within the next couple of months.

Honeycomb has been specially tailored for tablet devices and it's believed it will be closely followed by an Android update for smartphones.

iTunes is now the biggest on-line music retailer with 66% of the market. It's sold more than 10-billion songs since it was launched in 2003.
