Bloomberg is reporting that Fox TV wants to ban Time Warner Cable from using its channels on its iPad app.
The US cable company launched the app so its customers can watch its service on their iPads using its WiFi broadband connection.
But the News Corp programme maker says the cable company doesn't have authorisation to stream live channels and it's been confirmed that Fox has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Time Warmer.
The cable company argues there's no difference watching its channels on an iPad to watching on a portable TV.
Time Warner is the first cable company to offer such a service in the US, and other cable operators are watching developments with interest.
