How Much Will Apple iTunes Cloud Music Cost?

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I expected Apple's much-anticipated iTunes music cloud storage to be free.

It's known Apple is poised to launch a music locker, probably as an extension of iTunes and MobileMe. And cnet is quoting music industry insiders as saying Apple will charge for the service...perhaps not at first, but certainly after any free launch offer.

cnet points out it's also been reported that Google is planning to charge for its planned music locker service as well.

It's thought both Google and Apple are toying around with a figure in the region of $20-25 a year.

They know they have to keep the cost down.  Paid-for streaming music services are finding it hard going with customers reluctant to pay and preferring ad-supported services.
