Steve Jobs "Happy To Give Privacy Evidence To Congress"

Steve Jobs says Apple is happy to testify to Congress over claims of prying into iPhone users privacy.

Earlier, Apple issued a statement denying it was collecting iPhone and iPad owners location information. It says the info is collected on devices - not sent to Apple - to help location-sensitive apps, but said a software update will be released which will encrypt the info and stop collection when location services are switched off.

Now, in an interview with All Things Digital, Jobs says Apple is eager to give evidence to Congress:
He said Apple looks forward to testifying before Congress and other regulatory bodies and said the company will do what it can to clarify things further.
“I think Apple will be testifying,” Jobs said. “They have asked us to come and we will honor their request, of course.”
