iChromy: A New Chrome-Style Web Browser For The iPad

iChromy is a new free iPad web browser based on Google's Chrome browser for PCs.  And it's excellent.

The developers say it brings "Chrome's interface and speed to the iPad".

I've been using it for a day now and the speed is undeniable - it's lightening fast even on my generation-one iPad. And the interface is just like using Chrome.

There's tabbed browsing windows and the web-address bar along the top doubles very efficiently as a Google search bar.  Another neat feature is the address bar disappears to give extra browsing space until you tap the tab and it returns.

There are lots of other features like saving webpages for off-line reading and sharing pages via Twitter, Facebook, email, Instapaper and other services.

If you like Chrome - and increasing numbers of people do - give iChromy a go. It's simple, intuitive and fast.

iChromy is free in the Apple App Store
