We all know Amazon is planning to attack the tablet market. We just don't know when.
Taiwan-based DigiTimes is reporting it could be as early as August or September.
DigiTimes is known to have excellent contacts among component-makers and it says Amazon is planning global sales this year of four million.
The timing of launch is to meet the peak sales period prior to Thanksgiving in the US and the year-end holidays in the US and Europe, the sources pointed out.It also says its sources are talking about devices - not just one.
Many observers believe Amazon could make a significant dent in the stranglehold Apple's iPad has on the market and become a major competitor.
