Google has followed Amazon in dropping the purchase button from its eBook iOS app.
Earlier, we reported that Amazon's Kindle iOS app has been updated minus the in-app purchase option for books. Now, the Google Books app has done the same.
Both are giving in to Apple's new rules that in-app purchase buttons can't just direct you to the app owner's website. Apple is insisting in-app purchases are handled within the app and the owner gives a 30% cut to Apple.
