HP Offers Refunds To TouchPad Customers

The mess that is the HP TouchPad has just got messier.

After announcing that it's stopping production of all tablets and smartphones, HP discounted the price of TouchPad tablets to $99 for the 16GB version and $149 for 32GB.

But what about owners who paid the full whack of up to $499? Well, they can now get the difference refunded. HP has ordered retailers to refund the cash to customers.

And even better...if you don't now want your redundant, unsupported dodo, you can simply return it and get all your money back. HP has extended the returns time to 60 days.

By the way, if you're on the hunt to buy a discounted TouchPad, you'll have to be fast off the mark. Retailers in the US have put them on sale and have sold out within minutes, as has the HP US website. It's thought the price-cutting will hit other countries this week.

The TouchPad is seeing much greater sales in death than in life.
