Use Your Skype Credit To WiFi

Skype has released an iOS app that lets you use your Skype credit for WiFi connections.

The app is called Skype WiFi and it lets you use your Skype credit (if you have any) on WiFi connections worldwide.

It seems Skype has done a deal with Boingo, which uses several WiFi providers at locations like airports and hotels.

What you do is download the free app. Then launch it when your in a place you think will probably have paid-for WiFi access. The app will tell you if there's a compatible service in range and let you connect.

The service isn't free...but it starts at less than 0.5p a minute, which will be sucked out of any Skype credit you may have.

It's pay-as-you-go so could be a better deal than paying for internet access at an airport that charges by the hour.

Skype WiFi - apparently it used to be called Skype Access on PCs - is free in the Apple App Store.
