How Long Will You Have To Wait Between Apple Announcement And Getting iPhone 5 In Your Sticky Hands?

Well, to be honest no-one knows. Actually, that's wrong. Quite a few people know, but they all work for Apple and live in fear of breaking confidentiality causes in their employment contracts.

There are increasing reports that Apple may hold a media event on Tuesday, October 4, to announce the new iPhones (an iPhone 5 and a budget version of the iPhone 4).

That's all well and good, but when will the new devices start shipping to customers....when can you queue up outside an Apple Store and be cheered in to spend your hard-earned?

CNNMoney has put together this table of previous Apple launches. And it shows that the average wait time between launch and release is getting shorter.

So...it might not be too long. Then again.......
