iOS and Android device activations were running at a rate of 1.5m per day between December 1 - 20. And, according to analysts Flurry, that figure jumped to 6.8m on Christmas day as smartphones and tablets were given as presents across the world.
Flurry don't break it down further into OS share, but to help us Senior Vice President of Mobile at Google, Andy Ruben, couldn't resist taking to his Twitter account to tell us that 3.7m Android devices were activated over the Christmas weekend.
So, it seem the total figure is fairly evenly split between iOS and Android.
