iPhone 4S Siri Tells User To "Shut The F*** Up"

The Sun reports how a 12-year-old boy was testing out the Siri voice assistant on a demo iPhone 4S in a Tesco store in Coventry, UK.  Charlie Le Quesne asked Siri: "How many people are there in the world?"

He was somewhat surprised when Siri replied: "Shut the f*** up, you ugly t***."

His mother, Kim, was horrified. So horrified, they asked the phone the same question...and again got the foul-mouthed reply.

Now, before you all grab an iPhone 4S and ask it the same question, let's explain.

It seems someone had been playing around with the demo iPhone. One feature of Siri is it calls you by your name stored in the device's contacts list.

So, it's easy to change this name to something else like: "Shut the f*** up, you ugly t***"...or, in fact, anything else you want.

Oh, hours of happy fun.

It's just a pity Siri doesn't accurately recognise other names in your contact list when you ask it to call them.

Oh...and Tesco says it's investigating the incident. I suppose it would, wouldn't it.
