Weather On Your iPhone Lock Screen Without Jailbreak

Fancy having the weather on your iPhone lock screen?

Well, you can't.

Oh yes you can.

Sorry, panto season has got to me.

Technically, Apple doesn't allow apps to play around with the lock screen, but this weather app - called Lock Screen Weather - gets round the rules.

The app actually plays a silent looped music track stored in the built-in iPod app and the weather shows up as the album art on the lockscreen, which Apple allows. Clever, eh?

We just wonder how fast it will drain your battery as the app has to be running in the background.

If you fancy giving it a go, it's 69p/99c in the Apple App Store.

Panto - pantomime - is a peculiarly British Christmas tradition. Pantos are comedy plays - usually musicals - where the cast wear colourful costumes and make up and - believe it or not - men play some of the women's parts and the other way round. And it's all done for an audience of mainly children. One of the catchphrases of panto is for a character to say something like "Oh yes he did" and the audience to shout "Oh no he didn't" in reply. Phew.
