The only tablet that's come anywhere near rivalling the iPad is the Amazon Kindle Fire. And, at the moment, it's only available to buy in the US.
It's thought a multi-national roll-out will happen within the next couple of months...and it's also reported that Amazon is planning a bigger device. It's realised that the iPad isn't invincible.
The current Fire has a 7" screen...smaller than the iPad...but China Times in Taiwan is reporting that Amazon is already planning a next-generation device and hints that it could be sporting a 10" screen. It quotes parts suppliers.
And it makes sense.
Amazon has tested out the water...and has realised it's successfully taken on the mantle of the iPad-killer.
The Fire runs Android OS, but heavily modified by Amazon.
While the others like Blackberry and HP have failed, the Fire might just do it.
