Famously described by Steve Jobs as "a hobby", Apple TV could be about to get something of a facelift.
Well, more an innards-lift.
Retailers in the US have been reporting low stocks of the box and now many say they can't get any more from Apple.
In the UK, the Verge reports that retail chain PC World has told employees it too has run out of stock and doesn't know when more will arrive.
All this is a sure sign that an update is in the offing. But don't get excited that Apple will be replacing the tiny plug-into-your-TV box with a fully-fledged TV set anytime soon. It seems Apple TV will simply be getting more powerful...better processor, graphics etc.
We'll have to wait longer for the much-speculated Apple TV set.
